Where the data comes from
The count is built from the public agent directories of 15 brokerage brands operating in Illinois, led by Coldwell Banker, RE/MAX, Keller Williams and Compass. Brands that publish no directory, and independent brokerages outside those networks, are not counted, so the true number of working agents is higher than the figure on this page; the ranking of brokerages and cities is among the networks we can see.
The source is a per-agent contact file, the Illinois realtor list at usrealtorlist.com; an agent is counted here only if that file holds a published, current email address for them, which keeps the count to working agents.
