How many real estate agents in Michigan?
Count taken September 5, 2026Page built September 5, 2026
53,241 real estate agents in Michigan were on file when we counted on September 5, 2026: 8,983 with a published, current brokerage profile, plus 44,258 more taken from the Michigan licence register (LARA), which lists licensees without naming a brokerage. Michigan is the only state where register rows are included, so its total runs higher than a profile-only count would; the profile-only figure is the one to compare with other states.
"Agent" on this page means a person with a live profile on a brokerage's website at the time of the count, or an entry in the state register. It is not the number of licences Michigan has issued, which is higher because many licensees are inactive or unaffiliated, and it is not REALTOR® association membership. The count covers 14 brands; see how the counting works for what is and is not included.

Top real estate brokerages in Michigan
The ten biggest real estate companies in Michigan by number of agents with a published profile. A company that publishes no office names (Keller Williams, RE/MAX, Compass and others) appears as one row.
| Brokerage | Agents | Share of attributed agents | Brand | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Keller Williams | 2,365 | 26.3% | |
| 2 | RE/MAX | 1,728 | 19.2% | |
| 3 | Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | 1,274 | 14.2% | |
| 4 | Real Broker | 509 | 5.7% | Real Brokerage |
| 5 | Coldwell Banker Professionals | 453 | 5.0% | Coldwell Banker |
| 6 | Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors | 426 | 4.7% | Coldwell Banker |
| 7 | CENTURY 21 Professionals | 298 | 3.3% | Century 21 |
| 8 | CENTURY 21 Curran & Oberski | 293 | 3.3% | Century 21 |
| 9 | CENTURY 21 Affiliated | 285 | 3.2% | Century 21 |
| 10 | CENTURY 21 Signature Realty | 244 | 2.7% | Century 21 |
Shares are of the 8,983 Michigan agents whose profile names a brokerage. The other 44,258 are counted in the total but not in the table: 44,258 come from the Michigan licence register, which lists no brokerage.
By brand rather than company, Keller Williams has 2,365 (26%), RE/MAX has 1,728 (19%), Century 21 has 1,448 (16%), Coldwell Banker has 1,300 (14%) and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has 1,274 (14%). A brand's figure adds up every company operating under that name, so a franchise like Coldwell Banker or Century 21 is spread over many rows in the table above but appears once here.

Websites, phone numbers and email
Among the 8,980 Michigan agents whose profiles we check for a personal website, 5.8% have a site of their own rather than a page on the brokerage's site. The national figure is 7.2%. 88.4% of the 8,983 checked agents publish a direct phone number (national: 90.7%). Every counted agent has a published email address, which is the inclusion rule. In Michigan, 7% of those addresses are on a franchise domain, 22% on the agent's or the office's own domain, and 71% on free webmail such as Gmail or Yahoo. No address appears on this site.
Where the data comes from
The count is built from the public agent directories of 14 brokerage brands operating in Michigan, led by Keller Williams, RE/MAX, Century 21 and Coldwell Banker, plus the state licence register. Brands that publish no directory, and independent brokerages outside those networks, are not counted, so the true number of working agents is higher than the figure on this page; the ranking of brokerages and cities is among the networks we can see.
The source is a per-agent contact file, the Michigan realtor list at usrealtorlist.com; an agent is counted here only if that file holds a published, current email address for them, which keeps the count to working agents.
